Ropers Injured When Car Falls From Bridge
Mr and Mrs Elmo B Roper of 1000 West Jefferson were injured when their car skidded off a bridge ten miles from Nebraska City due to loose gravel. Heeren Jury Deliberates Late on Morphine Case
After more than 22 hours the Heeren jurors had not reached a verdict in the morphine possession case against Bernard Heeren of Creston. The trial began Tuesday before Judge Homer A. Fuller with jurors until 4 pm yesterday. Meanwhile A E Pierce of Creston pleaded guilty to illegal liquor possession and was fined 2800 or three months in jail. Three Killed In Indiana Train Wreck

Interest Report On Union County School Funds
The semi annual interest totaling 17 2.31 was received by Union county school funds for the first half of the year from a statement by J. W. Long state auditor via Associated Press. The state auditor paid the county 988 90 while the county auditor paid 763.41 by reserve workers. Hundreds of autos returning from the race meet hindered ambulances carrying the injured. Company officials refused comment on reports that brakes failed to stop the car, though it was at least sixty yards from box cars when it hit the open switch.
