The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated Ohio State 15 to 0 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Iowa dominated with an 11 yard run for a first score in the second quarter, Hogan drop-kicking a field goal in the third, and Schirmer adding a 10 yard TD run in the final period. Fry and Schirmer starred for Iowa.

Bulgaria Plans Defense Amid Greek Invasion Threat

Sofia October 24 Bulgarian authorities say the nation will defend its territory within its limited strength as Greek forces press toward the border under the Neuilly treaty. Churches May Form Triple Merger

Syracuse New York October twenty fourth. Unitarian Congregational and Universalist churches may merge. Rev Dr Harold E Ke Spaight of Kings Chapel Boston announced an invitation from the Unitarian general convention to convene a three to five member committee with Universalist leaders to explore closer ties. Congregationalists also urged a merged talk with Universalists as they adopted a similar resolution.

Sioux City Oct 24 Mrs George Carlson Sloan was awarded $8500 by a jury in the alienation of affections suit against her husband’s parents John and Mrs Carlson. The petition claimed the stolen love was worth $25000 but the verdict set the market value lower.

Boilermaker Killed In Milwaukee Yard Accident

Mason City Iowa October 24 William F Gross a boilermaker at the Milwaukee shops died after being run over by freight cars in Milwaukee yards last evening. He had climbed between two cars as a switch engine coupled to one end and was believed to have been thrown to the track. He was in the yards on personal matters and leaves a wife and six children.

Good Football Weather Forecast For State Games

Des Moines reports good football weather across the state for the upcoming games with slight snow flurries possible. Polen Indicted in Manslaughter Case Near Cres ton

A Union county grand jury charged H N Polen with manslaughter in the July 1 incident near Cres ton that killed Mrs. Presston Evans. Baldwin, a third person in the car, was later convicted of illegal possession with a $300 fine and three months in jail. The indictment raises Polen bail from 1500 to 3000. The report also notes charges against Albert Bissell for auto theft and Francis Connors on wife desertion and a statutory offense.

Chinese Bandits Capture Students in Hong Kong

The Associated Press report says 51 Chinese students and four teachers were kidnapped on October 21 from Canton Pui Ching Academy of the American Presbyterian Mission.
