Surviving: widow and five brothers George Des Moines Rudolph William Henry Los Angeles Charles Jeffersonville Indiana. Funeral services were held in Independence Thursday.

Mason City October 9 W E Tyrrell of Marshalltown won the state chess championship in a close final game of the annual state tournament. Tyrrell defeated E M Sabin of Northwood to take first place.
