The board held its monthly meeting. A roofing piece was torn from McKinley park auditorium by Saturday morning s wind but actual damage was about 10 square feet. Harold Colbert son of Mr and Mrs W J Colbert 217 Myrtle street led Grinnell College freshmen to victory over sophomores in the annual class scrap the first freshmen win in more than 10 years.

Creston Youth Loses License After Reckless Drive
Cecil Abell an 18 year old of South Walnut Street had his license revoked for eight months by Mayor M L Burt after a police court hearing this morning. The youth was charged with reckless driving following an accident at 720 Saturday night injuring Mrs J W Cashman of 701 North Cedar Street. Abell was fined 15 dollars and costs but the fine was suspended on good behavior. Mrs Cashman suffered head lacerations and bruises and remained in bed recovering. Witnesses identified Abell as the driver. he was arrested Saturday night and later released on bond. Abell claimed car trouble distracted him and denied seeing Mrs Cashman.

Capture of Lee County Jail Breaker Recaptured

Since gas tax law began last April Union County treasurer reports total receipts of 9,873.56 or two thirds of the county's share for April through August. Albert Beadle a Prescott resident was returned from Kansas City Kan by Deputy Sheriff Frank Collings to answer a larceny charge.
