Associated Press reports Kilauea's eruption cycle included one violent event and 50 minor eruptions in the 24 hours to midnight. Volcanologist O H Emerson ventured toward the crater mouth and observed the lip expanding nearly double its original area as branches collapsed. Greenfield Man Electrocuted At Power Line Work
George Hill age 21 son of Fred Hill superintendent of the city electric light plant was electrocuted at 9:30 am while working on power lines. Officials say 3200 volts passed through him and death appeared instantaneous. His body was found on the wires with smoking clothes after slipping or falling near the top of a pole. Funeral arrangements not announced.

Convicted Banker Rehman to Return to Prison
