Heresy Charge Is Dismissed Against Methodist Bishops
Kansas City May 24 The episcopacy committee of the quadrennial general conference recommended dismissal of heresy charges filed by Rev George A Cooke against Bishops W F McDowell and Francis J McConnell. Cooke accused their writings of violating Methodist teachings. The committee found no evidence establishing any validity to the complaints.

The state highway commission will let a contract at Ames on June 5 for grading primary highway No. 25 from Cres ton to the Adair county line. The project covers 8.289 miles with 177,952 cubic yards of earth excavation and 128 feet of corrugated culvert pipe. Work starts next fall and should finish by spring, completing a graded road from Cres ton to Greenfield.

Father Kills Daughter and Self in Philadelphia
