City Council Rejects Fire Truck Demonstration Offers

Bailey Morss of Ellston, a former convict arrested on a arson charge, was taken to the site of three fires near Ellston by Sheriff R R Stephens and a state fire marshal official. Des Moines reports Attorney General John Fletcher declares the state will not assume primary road bond obligations. Counties may use primary road funds to service bonds and interest, with no advantage to early special elections before the July 4 act.
