United States financier dead Gould dies in France
George Jay Gould American financier and railroad magnate died at Capp near Mentone France early today after a prolonged illness. Born February 6 1864 in New York City he led the Gould railroad holdings expanding 6000 miles to more than 20000 miles and managed major investments including Western Union. He became trustee and executor of his father Jay Goulds 80 million estate and shaped a vast industrial empire. Continued details follow on page 4.
