Kiwanis Club Meeting Set at Salvation Army Hall
Locals announce Creston Kiwanis International members will meet tomorrow night at the Salvation Army hall on South Elm Street. Dinner at 6 30 will be served by Salvation Army women, followed by a club program. Five men arrested over the weekend donated 45 to the city. Three of the five were charged with intoxication and fined 3 10 plus costs. One man arrested for fighting was fined 5 plus costs, and another 10 plus costs.

Fred J. Tyrrell 53, superintendent of the First Christian church Sunday school in Munhall, is jailed in Allegheny County charged with murder after a shooting at the church auditorium as worshipers gathered. Phillip F. Clark 36 of Homestead dies from gunshot wounds. Tyrrell fled to his home before arrest. Clark had pressed Tyrrell to resign amid a divorce case Tyrrell handled for Clark’s wife. House approves McNary Hanson farm relief bill

Washington May 14 Frank O Lowden testified before the campaign funds committee that his expenditures totaled $54,700 with expenses just under $900,000. He denied any agreement with other Republicans to sway support for Dawes or any prearrangement against other nominees. He said no discussion occurred about a transfer of Lowden strength to Dawes if he failed to secure the nomination. He emphasized his intent to fight for farm parity and the old harmony between industry and labor as vital to the republic’s future.
