Des Moines May 12 Promoters of the anti bonding association of Iowa plan to defeat the 100 million state bond issue for primary road improvement without targeting candidates. The Rt. Rev. Ignacio Valdezpino exiled bishop of Aguas Calientes Mexico died at 1 45 am in a San Antonio hospital after three weeks illness. His brother Juvinal Valdezpino of Aguascalentes was at his bedside. He suffered kidney and heart trouble and had returned from Havana with Archbishop Jose Mora Y Del Rio who died April 22.

County Grading Cemetery Road For Road Prep
A blade grader worked today on the half mile stretch from South Cherry street to Graceland cemetery to prepare the highway for a gravel layer by the county. The grading should finish Monday with gravel spreading to start May 21, says county engineer Guy A. Perry.

Planes Begin Baltic Rescue Flight Toward Greenland Island
At Mitchel Field New York on May 12 two Army amphibian planes started the first leg of a mission to reach Greenly Island to assist the Bremen. The Oak piloted by Lieut Muir Fairchild carried Major General James E Fechet as passenger and departed at 9 08 am bound for Pictou Nova Scotia with a fuel stop at Portland Maine. Corporal John L. Neel of Dakota City Iowa earned a Navy Department letter of commendation for good conduct during a marine patrol attacked by 400 Nicaraguans in Nueva Segovia on October 9 while searching for aviators lost amid Sandino guerrilla activity. He was among 38 cited for hazardous duties in Nicaragua. 10 received Navy Cross and 28 letters of commendation.
