Nurses Granted Diplomas For Training Work
The Great er Community hospital held commencement exercises at the Methodist church for senior nurses Geneva M Hughes M Pearl Priest Velma G Hoadley and Irene M Longstreth all in training. Diplomas were presented by L C Reese of Prescott. Rev D W Graham delivered the address describing two views of life and praising the nurses for completing the three year course and preparing for further service. The program included an organ prelude by Davie Belding and solos by Willis Royce.

Lieutenant Ernest G. Dixon reports a telegram from St. Louis stating Captain Charles Lindberth left for New York at 8 10 this morning. Lindberth, in Army aviation training with Dixon, is the sole entrant in the $25 000 New York to Paris trans Atlantic race and will prepare his plane for the flight upon arrival in New York.

Two injured in Creston crash envolvendo Louis Green
Louis Green of Creston is held in Council Bluffs after a crash on primary road No 2 near Creston. Miss Gladys Stephenson is in critical condition with serious injuries and Francis Conway is treated for head and neck cuts. The light coupe was struck on its side by a heavy truck as it left a bridge. Green was allegedly the truck driver, with Sam Post of Creston as a passenger.

Bayou Rouge levee broke today a crevasse about 10 feet wide near Cottonport Louisiana workers rushed to repair the break. In Mississippi floodwaters are receding and planters expect about 60 percent normal crop yields with rapid germination while livestock losses loom and mules and cattle face shortages for planting.
