Josepha and Rosa Blazek, Zecho Slavic twins joined at birth, are in serious condition with yellow jaundice in a Chicago hospital. If one dies, physicians say the other must also die. Rosa is a widow with a 12 year old son Frantz who plays at the hospital. the sisters came to the country previously for exhibition.

Frankfort Ky March 28 Repeal of anti trust laws and legalizing pooling of farm crops highlighted the 1922 General Assembly session. The Bingham Cooperative Marketing Act created Burley Tobacco Growers Cooperative Association, enabling 55 000 Kentucky farmers to pool a crop. The act was signed by Gov Morrow. The assembly also created two new normal schools with $30 000 each and provided $50 000 a year for summer teacher training schools. County superintendent appointments and teacher college training provisions from 1921 were not repealed.
Springfield reports John L. Lewis the United Mine Workers president says large numbers of non union coal miners will join the strike set for April 1. He announced the move amid growing labor pressure in the industry.
Chicago March 28. A surge of robberies left one suspect dead after a confrontation with a black officer. A lone burglar was captured by a north side housewife, and several alleged robbers were taken into custody. In the loop district eight suits were stolen from a clothing store manager. Nine masked men invaded the Cutten estate and menaced Mr Cutting his wife his brother Harry and five servants before ransacking the home.
Berlin reports Chancellor Wirth told the Reichstag the Allied reparations commission demand for a 60 billion gold mark tax levy is absolutely impossible. He described the proposal as unworkable and unacceptable for Germany.
London reports numerous scams exploiting families of missing soldiers. A London mother listed in German papers received a bogus notice from the Dead Soldiers Society promising to locate her son in 1919 after sending 10 pounds for travel expenses. The War Office cautions relatives to beware.
Council Bluffs March 28. An unidentified man, reportedly pursued by a spook, ran to the Missouri river last evening and jumped in. Mrs. J. W. Wheasley reported the incident to police. the body had not yet been recovered.
Washington March 28 Rapid progress marked the senates consideration of the five power naval treaty as the chamber moved toward ratification. The debate cropped little opposition and a final vote before adjournment was anticipated tonight.
New York March 28 Police Commissioner Enright lifted a ban on women smoking in public after discovering Alderman McGinnis two steps back ordinance had not been passed by the board of aldermen nor signed by Mayor Hylan.
Federal Judge Knox ruled that August Probst, former Rolling Rock Club butler near Pittsburg, was illegally ordered deported in a habeas corpus proceeding. Probst claimed he faced removal over a love affair with a society girl. The ruling centers on the legality of his detention and deportation process.
The office, with help from German police, found that the Dead Soldiers Society was not reliable and that at the time of inquiry most of its members were imprisoned.
The March term of the U S district court for the Southern District of Iowa opened in the federal building with Hon. Wm S Kenyon presiding. Jurors were empanelled with George Van Camp as foreman.
