It claims decades of use, retirement but ongoing dispensing through Newcomb & Matthews Adv. warns many die of kidney disease and urges readers to obtain the bottle at local drugstores.
An old advertisement touts Pape's Diaplosin as a pleasant chew that instantly relieves indigestion and stomach distress. It promises fast relief from heartburn sourness bloating and gas with a claim of inexpensive digestion correction.
Dyers protest to the Master Cotton Spinners Association against spinners sending goods to Belgium for dyeing. In Lancashire the trade suffers as manufacturers claim Belgium dyeing via Germany can cut costs and refuse to alter plans without price reductions.

The Willing Workers of the Salem Lutheran church meet Saturday March 24 at John Peterson’s home 506 North Cherry Street for a session.
The Presbyterian Ladies met for an all day session Thursday at the home of Mrs. H C Hanson 405 West Montgomery Street. The ladies enjoyed a delightful day at the Hanson residence.
The Masonic Entertainment Club Dance at Holly Hall Thursday evening was well attended. Dancing continued from 9 to 12 with music by the Crestonian Orchestra.
The W. C. T. U. held its regular meeting at Mrs. A. W. Tucker’s home on Thursday afternoon. After devotionals the program discussed Law Enforcement. The group was spirited and plans for the future were discussed, Mrs. Dyar received a life membership certificate, and routine reports and business were addressed.
The Allies will be entertained this evening by Mr and Mrs Will Burrough at the 8 N Wilkins home on West Adams Street. Following a seven o'clock dinner the hosts will host a bridge session.

J. D. Spaulding came home today from Spaulding as Mrs. Charles Detering left for Marshalltown to visit daughter Mrs. Jesse Osher and family. Verle Smith of Edgerly Drug Co Ottumwa returned home after a short business trip. Bradford Rockham of Fontanelle, in town for several days on personal matters, returned home this afternoon.
