Freighter El Salaro Sunk in New York Harbor
The Morgan line freighter El Salaro from Galveston was sunk in New York harbor near the Statue of Liberty after a head-on collision in heavy fog with the Sac City. About 50 crew were aboard. initial reports gave no fate details. El Salaro left Galveston the previous day and was 3,747 net tons. The Sac City appeared not badly damaged.

27 Students Expelled For Liquor Party
Berkeley, Calif, March 11. Juvenile court authorities announced that 20 University of California students were expelled over a fraternity house liquor party attended by 27 students and about as many girls. One co-ed from Los Angeles was exonerated by President W W Campbell after explaining she left in disgust when she learned the party's character. The event, claimed by students to be a class track managers reunion, occurred Feb 18 at the Lamda Cai Alpha house.

A Creston youth Dom Williams faced a breaking and entering charge brought by P. Kelly for allegedly breaking into a produce house on East Montgomery street. The charge was remissed after several witnesses testified and the court ruled evidence insufficient. Williams was released.
