Two manslaughter charges are filed against Mrs. W. H. Rowley after a deputy sheriff arrest near Des Moines. Investigators allege a large baby farm operation, with hundreds of young girls and married women seeking aid. Evidence of over 600 illegal operations in the past year will be presented to the grand jury.
Washington March 3 with plans for the simplest inauguration in memory President Elect Warding will reach Washington today and begin work at once. He will first confer with Senator Knox of Pennsylvania, head of the inaugural committee and adviser to the new president. Knox will draft a resolution urging restoration of peace with Germany as an early act of the administration.
President Wilson met with his cabinet in Washington for the last time and bade farewell to the ten advisers four since 1913. The final meeting in the executive offices lasted about ninety minutes as the president walked from the White House with a cane and signed photographs for each adviser before saying goodbye.
The Socialist Party national executive committee will map a campaign for the release of Eugene V. Debs and all political prisoners in Boston on March 5, announced at party headquarters in Chicago.

Red Oak, Iowa March 3 Lyn George J Kelly who was tried twice in 1917 at Red Oak on charges connected to the Villiseaux murders has written a book detailing his life. The work largely denies the crimes and protests the alleged horrors he endured during trial.
President Wilson announced he would resume the practice of law in a partnership with Stainbridge Colby the retiring secretary of state. The firm will maintain offices in New York and Washington.
