Paris Missouri town reports Glen Forsman 28 jailed on mayhem charge after allegedly locking 19 year old Mrs. Harry Rogers in a room on a farm near Paris and carving his initials on her breast as a test of love.
The U S supreme court ruling on the Levering act voids profiteering charges against seventeen prominent Utah Idaho North Dakota and Montana defendants in fourteen indictments. Isaac B Evans U S district attorney said most indictments arose from alleged profiteering by the Utah Idaho Sugar Company whose eight directors are named in grand jury findings.
London reports outline plans by the supreme council to take over German customs receipts in occupied territories as the first step to enforce Germany's reparations obligations. No current plan to occupy further German territory is indicated in the committee's instructions.

London March 2 The allies reached a complete agreement on the reply to Germany over the reparations question and on the consequences if the term is rejected, it was learned today.

Nine head of pure bred Herefords were burned in a barn fire at Albin J. Johnson's place nine miles east of Auburn. The blaze Saturday night destroyed the barn and livestock, with losses estimated at more than 5000 dollars.

Washington March 2 The house judiciary committee recommended a full investigation into Judge Landis for accepting the position as supreme baseball arbiter. The panel says such action constitutes serious improprieties and endorses impeachment charges by Rep Welty Democrat of Ohio. The report was adopted unanimously with the chairman reserving a minority report.
