State insane hospital fire frees inmates
Nashville July 27 a blaze at the central state hospital for the insane drove inmates from their beds as guards and police fought to control the panic. About 350 inmates were in the main building with 15 still at large by dawn. Firefighters estimated losses at 250000 while some patients aided guards and fire crews amid extends evacuations and uncertainty over casualties.
