More than twenty flyers take a rest day in Los Angeles with meals and social events before resuming to San Francisco. Twenty two of twenty three planes from the San Diego leg landed at Mines Field though one must have diverted. Mrs Phoebe Omlie the sole woman pilot in the tour forced down at Laguna Beach with motor trouble while planning to rejoin after repairs. Aged Iowa Woman Drowns Crossing Creek
The body of Mrs. Thomas Welch, 70, of Parnell, Iowa, was found in Old Man's creek near Holdbrook after she disappeared Tuesday morning. Searchers believe she fell while crossing on a leg. She leaves her husband and five children.
