Obituary of the Late W. C. Welch
W C Welch died after a long illness tracing his roots to Polo Illinois and Cres ton. He lived in Creston later moving with his parents to this city where he died. He left a widow and children and his funeral was held at his mother's home with Rev Clyde C Harris officiating. He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Welch sister Grace Welch sisters in law and several nieces and a grand daughter. The community’s sympathy goes to the family.

Funeral for Mrs Spies Tomorrow in Creston
The funeral for Mrs Eliza Jane Spies will be held at her West Mille Street home at 2 PM Wednesday with Rev C C Harris of the Congregational church officiating. She died at 6:20 AM Monday after an illness of over a month. Born July 27 1857 near Quincy Illinois she married Fredrick J Spies May 21 1876 and lived in Creston until her death. Survived by husband four children Warren T Spies, Feed J Spies, Anna Mable Spies, Margaret Estella Spies and by three brothers John H B of Quincy and William Best of New York City and sister Sarah Welaser of Quincy. Burial Graceland Cemetery. She was a devoted mother and community member.
