Found items include a white kid baby shoe and a pair of glasses in a brown leather case. Owners are asked to call this office and pay for the notice.

At the Cleveland national convention the Socialist party debates endorsing Senator Robert M La Follette as an independent candidate. A 13 to 2 vote supported ratification by a 15 member committee of party leaders. Debates are expected to last hours with no shutoff on discussion. Debs, ill in Elmhurst Illinois, sends endorsement of nominating no presidential candidate.
The United States opened a strong day at Colombes France with F Morgan Taylor of Grinnell College winning the 400 meter low hurdles in 52.85 seconds to set a world record, as the Americans vie to overhaul Finland in the track and field championships.
The Yankees beat the Senators 7 to 4 in Washington to move within one game of first place after four of five in the series. Ruth belted his 22nd homer, Hendrick slid home in the ninth to knock out Ruel, and the club heads home for a western swing with momentum. Danforth allowed three hits as St Louis beat Detroit 5 to 1, Stoner homered to help Cleveland’s win, and the Giants were shutout by Philadelphia. Brooklyn split with Boston. Ruether shutout Pittsburgh in the second game. St. Louis pounded four Chicago pitchers 13 to 4.

Mrs. Carl Selander of North Cedar street entertained at a six o clock supper Sunday evening as a courtesy to her house guest Miss Pearl Carlson of Rockford Illinois. Twelve guests attended the event.
H. K. Graham of Omaha arrived to attend to business interests for several days. Carl Miller, also of Omaha, has been in Creston since the Fourth visiting the Miller home on South Vine Street and returned home Sunday evening. Mrs. Miller will stay in Creston for the week with relatives.
Mr and Mrs Jack Hood depart Sunday for a Denver vacation. Mr and Mrs Chas Harvey head to San Jose for several weeks. Mrs Catherine Chandler Mrs J K Hayden and Marshall McCann visited Shannon City Sunday. Mr and Mrs A E McCann of Spaulling visited J E McCann's family over the weekend. Mrs John Burns leaves for Minnesota for months with kin. Miss Hazel Welty returns to St Joseph after visiting her aunt. James and Jack Moran come home from Abbia after a Sunday with relatives.
