New York July 7 An appeal to Christian Endeavor leaders to oppose indecent dress dancing and suggestive pictures was outlined by Francis E Clark president at the Sixth World Christian Endeavor convention. He urged families to adopt daily prayers and promote home religion, temperance, and purity as vital for future Christianity and urged aims for better youth organization and stronger church ties over the next two years.

London July 7 The Associated Press reports Prime Minister Lloyd George said in the house of commons he understood General J C Smuts the South African premier went to Ireland on Tuesday at the invitation of Irish Republican leader Emmons D Valera He added he was seeing Smuts constantly before Smuts departed for Ireland and would confer with him on return.
Paris reports on July 4 celebrations marking the United States national fete as a French anniversary. Subscriptions opened for the Lafayette monument at the Garonne estuary.
