Creston residents report the death of Daisy P. Andrews Ide at her East Providence home in Rhode Island. She was the daughter of Dr Andrews and lived in Creston about forty years ago, where she and the Andrews family were remembered by locals.
Miss Mable Thomas of Lorimer and Gerald B. E. McKee of Macksburg wed at the Methodist parsonage with Rev Homer Baumgardner officiating. The bride’s mother Mrs. Anna Thomas and the groom’s parents Mr and Mrs Lorenzo McKee attended. The couple plan a brief wedding trip before settling on a farm near Macksburg.
A coroner verdict from Princeton holds the engineer of train No. 8 responsible for the Burlington wreck at Buda on Monday morning that killed six and injured seventeen. It says the operating rules were not observed and the Buda system provides inadequate protection given the grades curve and coal chute location. In Chicago, Herbert Holliday is sought in connection with the Rondout mail robbery as a Texas convict escapee.
A financial statement given at the church dedication service shows the building fund needs 3990 to cover non mortgage debts while the mortgage stands at 10000. Over 4000 was raised at the service, enabling finishing work and organ purchase as the committee plans to clear all other debt. Fred Wide chairs the Finance Committee.
Mrs Paul Louden entertained her card club Tuesday evening at her South Elm Street residence. A pot of five hundred was enjoyed with Miss Pauline Weller taking first prize and Miss Margaret Madooy second. Refreshments were served. Guest Teresa Rowan of Albia attended.
