Gasoline tax bill introduced in Iowa legislature
A two cent per gallon gasoline tax bill was introduced in the Iowa Senate by Senator Perkins of Sac county. Revenue would be shared among primary, county, and township road funds with refunds for agricultural machinery use. Exemptions cover gasoline brought into the state by motorists up to 20 gallons. The measure was drafted by Senator Bergman with members from both houses.

Inquest Probes Deaths of Klan Figure Glenn Young
At Herrin Illinois on January 27 a coroner's jury investigated the killings of S. Glenn Young Ku Klux Klan liquor raider Deputy Sheriff Ora Thomas and two others.
