Rome reports indicate Pope Benedict II died after a rapid decline from pneumonia. Cardnal Bourne of Westminster confirmed Rome's notification of the death, with medical teams and the Pope's family at his bedside as officials noted no revival.
Premier Lloyd George told the National Liberal Conference that all nations of Europe have been invited to the Genoa conference to end wars and rumors of wars. He stressed that world peace hinges on good understanding between the United States and Britain.
Ashbury Fields, condemned to death for murder, was given a 50 day reprieve by Governor Taylor after pleading he was not ready to die. He was convicted of striking a man with a hammer and luring him into a forest to sell whisky before killing him.
Frank Thompson of Olathe Kansas waived preliminary hearing in the death of Cedar Rapids cattle dealer Harry Bruener and the wounding of bystander Adolph Drakos in the Kansas City livestock exchange lobby. Members of the Nurses Alumni of the Greater Community hospital were entertained Thursday afternoon by Mrs. Wm. Hoffman and Mrs. Wm. Pierson at the Wagoner apartments on New York Avenue. About sixteen attended and fortunes were read as the afternoon ended with a luncheon.

Federal Judge Fitzhenry scolded Leroy Good of Batchtown for wearing a United States marine uniform while pleading guilty to shipping wild ducks to St. Louis. The judge asked why he wore the uniform, calling him the best slave. Good replied and received a $60 fine and 90 days in jail.
Honeton Tex Jan 21 Fire starting in the post office building swept through the main business street of Weert Columbia a small oil town of about 3500 in Pravoria county destroying four blocks of frame buildings. Fire reported under control early this morning.
There will be no Sunday services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church as Rev David Ferguson departed for Connell Bluffs to preside at the State Convention. He is expected to return to the city on Wednesday.

Elmer Kinkade found a semi conscious woman named Mrs. Sarah J. Miller lying beside the highway west of Cromwell Friday evening. She walked from Nebraska City toward Creston seeking work, aided by lifts, and gave a sad personal history including the death of seven children and an abusive marriage. Authorities in Creston Iowa were unable to locate her friend Mrs. Garren. She planned to stay in a local hotel room while seeking any kind of work for board and a room.
