Mad Dog Shot By Police Here
Dr. T. V. Golden, city health officer, issued a warning against allowing children to play with dogs after a mad dog was killed by police yesterday. The dog owned by W. B. Duncan of 1118 West Jefferson Street had its head sent to Town City State University for rabies testing. Duncan said the dog had not bitten anyone.

Accidental Gun Discharge Fatal to Banker in Salem
A coroner's jury reports that Charles Gifford, cashier at Dakota State Bank of Salem, died after an accidental pistol discharge while he and his two year old son John wrestled for a Christmas gift gun. The boy and father were alone when the weapon went off, striking Gifford in the back. No charges were filed against the child.

Man Slays Former Wife At Fairfield Iowa
