A January blaze in Madera Clearfield County Pennsylvania caused an estimated $25 000 in damage to 15 buildings in the coal town's business block. Three people were injured as dynamite crews from nearby mines blew up structures to halt the flames in the incendiary attack.
Monticello La Jan 14 Mrs Frank Henkel died of heart failure after a Wisconsin honeymoon trip. She contracted a severe cold in Wisconsin, grew ill, then pneumonia developed and a weak heart could not withstand the illness. She married Frank Henkel at her parents home on Dec 23.
Jasper Alabama January 14 William Beard a miner held for the killing of James Morris a guardsman on December 21 last year was taken from Walker county jail by a mob early today and shot to death three miles from Jasper. Leslie West owner of a Holly Grove garage was arrested tonight in connection with Beard’s killing and placed in jail.
Police investigated a blackmailer signing as Shadow who sent threatening letters. A note reading I have been here Shadow was found on the suspect's desk yesterday as authorities worked to identify the writer.

They were convicted for killing Joel A Hoyt and Robert L Rose during the Abyssinian riot on June 20 at thirty fifth street and Indiana avenue after Rose objected to flag burning.
Pedro Dominguez was hanged at the Florence State Prison this morning after the Mexican government appealed for clemency. He was convicted of murdering a fellow miner last year.

Ernest Kruse, employed by Keasley and Madison Company of Chicago, died at the Northwest Portland Cement Company plant in Mason City when a rope slipped on a scaffold twenty five feet high. He fell and died at the scene. the body will be sent to Chicago for burial.
Nogales dispatch reports two bandits shot by immigrant inspectors in Calabasas Arizona during a morning gun fight. Officials say the dying suspects confessed to killing Marshal Stangler and Ernest Hintze in Tempe Tuesday night.
