Andrew L. Smith 43, former University of California head football coach and Pennsylvanian All-American fullback of 1904, died at University Hospital. He had traveled from California for the Penn University Cornell game and then to New York for Army Navy, contracting pneumonia after exposure. His California contract had expired but a new four year offer of about 50,000 dollars was sent to him.

A damage suit was filed in district court by J. C. LaMaster of Kent against Charles R. Madden, also of Kent and related, seeking ten thousand dollars. W. H.
