Arrival of Soldier’s Body in Brooklyn Telegram

Mr and Mrs Frank J Strunce of this city received a Graves Registration Service telegram from Brooklyn New York stating that their son Edward Strance killed in service overseas would arrive in Brooklyn about January 14 and be shipped here upon further instructions. The exact arrival date is not yet known.

Death in France Ends Texan Edward Strance’s War Service

The body arrives in Creston a few days after Brooklyn. Edward Strance, 28, enlisted May 12, 1917 in Texas, transferred to Fort Worth July 12, 1917, then sailed overseas with his company. He was killed in a railway accident in France on August 6, 1918 while en route to the front. Funeral details will be announced after body arrival in Creston.

New Burlington blocking system to be ready in ten days
