On New Year’s Eve the Merry 8& club entertained their husbands and families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smaha 705 West Jefferson street. John England of Los Angeles was an out of town guest and a guest of Dr. and Mrs. H. E. England. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Miley and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cronin. Cards were played with prizes to Mrs. Harvey Bartlett and Dr. England for high, and to Mrs. James Kiisinger and Harvey Bartlett for low. Mrs. A. J. Miley won the guest prize. A New Year’s watch was held with midnight refreshments.
