Philip Bender aged 86 died Thursday evening at his son John H. Bender’s home three miles north of the city. He resided in Creston for forty years before moving to his son’s home. He is survived by his widow and two sons John H. and Frank L. The funeral is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Deitrick's chapel with Rev. Homer Baumgardner officiating. Interment will be at Graceland.
