Waterloo February 24 Michael Netley born in Bohemia is 104 years old today. He moved to Waterloo a year ago from Cedar Rapids and avoided doctors until age 95 when a stroke struck. He recovered from three strokes and sits up each day. He has four children in the area and one in Moville, Iowa. Netley arrived in the county on the day Lincoln was shot.

Cedar Rapids Feb 24 George Walsh 19 Waterloo leeman faces probable charges of forgery after his arrest last night. He allegedly forged the name of T J Wood of Vinton on a $15 check which he cashed at Van Pelt Clothing and used to buy goods totaling 11 30 at the store. The check drawn on Farmers and Traders bank of Vinton was one of several from Wood’s Green Mill cat. Walsh admitted the forgery and planned to plead guilty.
