The French delegation accepted Secretary Hughes proposed 175000 tons in capital ships with reservations on other naval program parts. A Sarraut presented the modified French plan to the Washington conference naval subcommittee, aiming for a defense oriented fleet allocation for France.
Tulsa crowds estimated near 1000 surrounded the police station and about 2700 gathered at the county courthouse tonight amid rumors that Tom W Cook Avis Feary and Bill Dalton accused in the shooting of policemen Harry Aurendt and Ike Wilkinson would be lynched.
Des Moines. Roscoe Saunders was reinstated today as chief of police by the city council after being ousted yesterday. The council removed supervisory power from Councilman John Budd and granted Saunders full authority to run the department. A citizen committee pledged support for Saunders.
Lisbon formed a new government last night with Cunha Lea as prime minister and Julio Falkas, formerly minister of public instruction, as minister of foreign affairs. The State Department reported the change from Lisbon.
Three bandits stopped a street car in St Louis at noon and robbed Edward Edwards, 55, messenger for the Cheleau Trust Company, fleeing with a satchel containing 8,180 dollars in company funds. Edwards was uninjured.
The forecast calls for generally fair weather tonight and Wednesday. Colder tonight and on the southeast portion by Wednesday. A cold wave affects tonight's east and south areas with temperatures Wednesday morning about zero to eight above.

Queenstown Eng. Dec. 20 Removal of British troops from Ireland scheduled to begin today is suspended and they will not be withdrawn unless the peace treaty is ratified, the Associated Press reports.

A larceny charge against Mrs. Belle Heil, ex wife of a Chicago banker, was dismissed in Los Angeles after the district attorney's motion.
