A young woman’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in a culvert on the Williams Bay road near Elkhorn. Death appeared murder by axe as multiple ribs were crushed and lungs pierced. Identification was not possible. investigators hoped relatives might recognize her teeth and hair.

Shopmen Lose At Clearfield Tournament Final

Main line tracks of the Burlington railroad blocked at Hastings Iowa early today when a loaded automobile car in freight train No. 67 derailed. Tracks cleared by 9 a m delaying east bound trains Nos 10 and 6. Meantime Sied Karan of Omaha fined $10 and costs for operating a lunch counter at the county fair without a state license, charged by state inspector John Milnes Creston.

Ambulance Collision Injures Two Near Bullard Corner
L. L McGregor and Harry Coen sustained minor cuts as the McGregor Brothers Co. ambulance was badly wrecked in a collision with a Reid dairy touring car west of the city. The Reid vehicle was lightly damaged. the ambulance overturned and glass, fenders, and running boards were destroyed. A Creston ambulance later transported Mrs Dougherty to the train.
