London Aug. 25 Associates Press reports Eamon de Valera the Irish irregular leader has reappeared after months in seclusion following the assassination of Michael Collins and is said to be active with a sizable force of irregulars.
New York Aug 25 The $5,000,000 farm loan bonds for Iowa and Illinois were over subscribed this morning. Interest runs at four and 60-100 per cent.
Chicago forecast shows fair tonight and Saturday with cool conditions. Extreme southeast portion expected to be cooler tonight.

Three killed and a score injured as a large blaze engulfs half the Haskell business district in Muskogee Oklahoma. Firemen rush from Muskogee to control flames consuming six blocks. A cigarette discarded is suspected as the cause.
Lincoln August 25 Governor McKelvie directs State Sheriff Yus Hyers Warden W T Fenton and Game Warden George Koster to aid South Dakota officials in locating convicts who escaped last week from the South Dakota penitentiary. Hyers to join search after South Dakota request. Convicts reportedly stole a yellow wheel automobile at Verdel in Knox county.
The F. W. Woolworth store in St. Joseph Missouri burned in the early hours, causing about 250000 dollars in losses. Adjacent establishments also suffered damage as the blaze raged for hours and was not contained until noon.
Des Moines Aug 25 The Iowa National Guard in wool uniforms faced a 90 degree sun. Seventy five men from the 155th were overcome at the rifle range and rushed to ambulances. Twenty five were taken to the field hospital. by day’s end nearly all had been released.
Four escaped convicts clashed with a pursuing posse near Murdo and in Dakota Territory mortally wounded State's Attorney Parrish and wounded Sheriff Babcock while stealing the States Attorney's car. The posse followed them toward the Bad Lands and hoped aircraft would aid the search.
Chicago reports the eight week railroad strike intensifies with bombs near the round house at Roadhouse on the Chicago and Alton line. A second blast left the town in darkness as shots rang out and an Illinois Central train was stoned by alleged strike sympathizers.
Chicago Aug 25 Associated Press A Burlington passenger was struck on the head by a rock hurled through a car window. Officials of the C B and Q are probing an attempted dynamite blast on a bridge near Spanish Lake about seventeen miles from St Louis. Minor damage only.
In Waukegan Illinois on Diamond Lake a boat capsized while George Matthews his wife and their five year old grandson from Evanston were fishing. The woman sank after being exhausted. Two New Trier students swam to the rescue and held her afloat until help arrived. Coroner Taylor revived her with a pulmotor.
Youngstown Ohio August 25 George Oles former mayor who resigned after a stormy term was arrested and driven to the police station on charges of obstructing the sidewalk before his downtown market The complaint was filed by rival market owner Morris Squires Oles posted a ten dollar bond for his appearance at a later hearing
Hilderbert Le tourneau of St. Pierre Montmagny county has raised twenty one children and good crops. The government awarded him the 1922 Me daille du Merite Agricole for agricultural merit as neighbors praise his large family and fine harvests. Neighbors urged him to carry on.
A cabinet officer said the administration will not act on the rail strike for now after the peace conference failure. The President remains firm to maintain transportation and the right of men to work, ready to use all government powers to keep trains moving.
A violent windstorm crossed the Ohio River into Indiana, killing one person and injuring three, with property losses estimated between 150000 and 200000 dollars. The storm hit Louisville area residents late last night, according to Associated Press reports.
The American steamship Lewis Luckenbach and the British steamship Southwestern Miller collided in the Delaware river below Marcus Hook. Three Honolulu youths confessed to high way robbery and violent assaults after emulating lurid motion picture serials. Two received life imprisonment at hard labor. the crimes included robbery, assault with intent to murder, and assault on a girl. The youths cited film influence as their motive.

The list names 70 Grand and 70 Petit jurors including Breckenridge Tingley, Coon Osceola, Crone Allerton, Falk Clarinda, Mills Mt Ayr, Piper Chariton, Reese Corning, Snyder Leon, Wright Chariton, among many others. The fall term commences Monday September 19.
Des Moines reports Major BR Lucas former assistant adjutant general for thirteen years has died at his Fairfield home. Lucas was forty six years old.
Lincoln Aug 25 E C Boring and John C Stevenson told Deputy U S Marshal J C McClung they were forced to go to the labor temple on entering Havelock and disclose their business and visiting reason and warned not to work for the Burlington.
Corning defeated Leon 100 at the Clarinda tournament this afternoon. Daniels and Williams pitched with solid support from Powells and Cowell, while Leon’s Butcher and Athing faced a tough game as Creston prepared to play Bethany, Missouri.
In Yankton South Dakota August 25 road graders unearthed the body of Peter McNaboe a wealthy Bridgewater bachelor who vanished December 6 1934 while working near the James River fifteen miles north of Yankton. His hired man Charles Snyder and a team of horses disappeared at the same time Snyder has never been apprehended.
Charles Cripp, a wealthy Omaha cattleman, flew his son home from Chicago after a serious Omaha accident. He chartered a plane at a cost of about $460 for the round trip, with a four and a half hour flight expected.
Nortonville Kentucky August 25 Reports indicate a head on collision near Nortonville claiming thirteen hoboes dead and three trainmen among the victims wrecking crews search the debris for more corpses and missing men.
