A mail plane from Frisco set a new transcontinental speed record when pilot Wesley L Smith landed at 11 14 am EST completing the trip from San Francisco in 26 hours 14 minutes. The flight beat the army record of 26 hours 50 minutes by Lieutenants Kelley and McReady. The main plane used a longer route and mail arrived 4 hours 1 minute early.
