Deputies Guard Man Who Shot Youthful Bandit

Pueblo, Aug 21. Deputy Sheriff Charles Fiscus guarded his home after he shot and seriously wounded Leslie Gonce, 14, a bandit who, with his brother Forrest, 21, terrorized the area for weeks. Crowds of about 75 men threatened the deputy. two other groups were dispersed downtown. Leslie, at the hospital near death, claimed he was shot without warning as he tried to draw a revolver. Forrest later faced lengthy prison terms for robbery with a gun. the brothers had engaged in a spree of holdups and escapes.
