General Pershing announced increased appropriations for citizens' training camps after tours of Camps Meade Knox Grant and Snelling. This year attendance was limited to 11 085 from 40 489 applicants. next year he hopes for 40 000 attendees and President Harding favors 100 000, with support for larger funding.
