J Ogden Armour a wealthy Chicago packer died in London at 53 after a long illness with typhoid fever and stomach attacks. Eldest son of Philip S Armour founder of Armour and Company he led the firm as it expanded holdings and South American subsidiaries after taking control in 1901.

Despondent nurse Bernice Blackford ends life in Colorado Springs
Former resident Bernice E. G. Blackford a 35 year old nurse killed herself by turning on kitchen gas in her Colorado Springs apartment. A note said despondency over a love affair caused the death and requested that L Nutt of Des Moines and Paul Reynolds of Colorado Springs be notified. Reynolds said he knew Miss Blackford four years from a Creston Iowa sanatorium where they both were patients. She recently lost her job in a sanatorium reform and depression likely followed.

Family Reunited After 20 Years Ends Long Separation
After twenty years the three brothers and a sister of Mrs. H. M. Spencer, living at 23 Myrtle Street, were reunited. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gustin of Kellerton and W. L. Gustin of Excelsior Springs, with A. L. Gustin of Kalamazoo and Mrs. M. J. Lyford of Dwight, arrived to visit the Spencer home.
