Swift & Co will switch from oil burning engines to power supplied by lines at the Creston plant after Iowa Southern Utilities signed a contract to furnish all local power. The move follows a plan to reduce oil usage as 75 percent of current plant power comes from the engine. Swift renewed power contracts with ISU for Ottumwa Centerville and Newton.
