In New York City a shooting in a Heights Court information session left three dead and twelve injured. Norman Roberts fired at his wife, then at officers and bystanders, triggering a chaotic shootout that disrupted the courthouse and sent hundreds fleeing.
A morning blaze at the Albert Schwill and Company flour and malt plant in Chicago destroyed two buildings and 175000 bushels of wheat. Damage is put at about 350000 dollars. The fire broke out early today.
