Two Polish pilots Majors Louis Idzikowski and Kazimierz Kubala began a non stop east to west flight from Paris to New York in a Marszalek Pilsudski plane. They left Le Bourget at 5 45 a m Paris time aiming for New York with a cruising radius near 5000 miles and a potential 56 hour endurance.

Noted Actor Fred Stone Injured in Plane Crash
Fred Stone, famed comedian and student pilot, was badly injured when a Travelair bi plane he solo flew crashed near Groton airport in New London Connecticut. He had been aloft about ten minutes returning to the field when the engine failed and the plane nose-dived. Stone and his daughter Paula were in the other plane piloted by his instructor Lieut. John L. Campion earlier that morning.

British flyers rescued after 10 hour Atlantic drift

Two Die On Gallows In Maryland
In Maryland state penitentiary two inmates Charles P Carey and Benjamin F Spragins were hanged for the murder of prison clerk Albert H Walker during an attempted 1927 escape. Carey died at 12 25 am and Spragins at 12 48 am after collisions in the trap failed to break necks. Sixty witnesses watched, with most fleeing the chamber as Carey strangled.

Five Officers Raid Two Talmage Houses Seizing Liquor
Five officers led by Creston constable W G Wickham and Afton constable W A Gripp raided two houses at Talmage last night and confiscated a quantity of alleged liquor. By early afternoon no arrests were recorded, with the liquor placed in the custody of Justice of the Peace John Carson. Mr and Mrs A Strauss Creston arrived in New York aboard the liner Majestic from Cherbourg and Southampton after traveling in France. They delayed an extended visit to France and Italy due to Mr Strauss's health and are now resting at Atlantic City.

Man Hits By Driverless Car In Higgens Yard
H. H. Higgens of 416 North Sycamore Street narrowly escaped serious injury last evening when a driverless car rolled down a Sycamore Street hill, crossed a yard and struck the porch where he sat, sending him to the floor but leaving him bruised. The car owned by Miss Maude Ingraham of 316 North Sycamore Street had been parked while she entered her home. the emergency brake slipped, the vehicle rolled, struck a parked car, blew a tire, and finally crashed into Higgens yard before minor damage to the car.
