The Loyal Workers gathered Wednesday at Mrs. Briese’s home on South Pine Street for a brief business meeting followed by refreshments. A school program at the high school featured the operetta The Three Bears performed by pupils, with choirs and readings, and solo and violin numbers. Mr. and Mrs. W F Busby celebrated their seventeenth wedding anniversary with friends at home and the Elk Club. Ladies of G A R Creston Circle No 7 met at Potter Post hall, and Parlor Circle met at Mrs Callin’s, honoring departing members Mrs Sawyer and Mr Sawyer from Rogers Arkansas. The circle elected Mrs Stanchfield as president as a long-time member departs. A painted card with member names was presented and a festive table arrangement served the attendees.

He Surprises Them By Returning Check
Los Angeles April 6. Mr Des Roches of Pasadena is an employee of the county. Several months ago he was injured at work and received workmen's compensation checks. He was mailed a second and later a third. When the third check for 24 dollars arrived he sent it back with a note saying he was at work again and did not feel justified in keeping the check.
