Democrats Endorse Lottery Plan Shuffle in Local Race
In Trenton on February 20 officials attempted to settle a bitter race by drawing lots. Republican Arthur E. Paine won the outcome as Democratic candidates declined to accept the plan. Sergeant John Wade conducted the drawing at Dix, with objections noted by opponents.
