Rutgers Prep School opened its doors on Wednesday, beginning its 147th year. Enrollment is strong with many students from the local area and other states. The faculty is described as the best the school has ever had.

Widower Richard Lewis Weds Clara Conover in Secret Ceremony

In Jamesburg on September 21, Richard Lewis owner of a local house furnishing store announced his marriage to Clara Conover daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Conover of Gatzmar Avenue. Conover had served as his housekeeper after the death of his wife and the ceremony location date remain undisclosed. The newlyweds have reportedly been married for over a year. Lewis is the youngest son of Mrs and the late Richard Lewis former Jamesburg mayor and longtime Democratic committee member.

Citizens Meeting Planned for Evening in Odd Fellows Hall

A Thursday meeting drew a fair attendance with consensus to keep street lamps burning all night. Committees were formed to gather information and report back at the next gathering scheduled for Saturday at 7 80 oclock in Odd Fellows Hall, urging all citizens and voters to attend.

The panel spans merchants, officials, and manufacturers as the jury to be selected by a new sheriff.

South Brunswick Builds New School Rooms and Upgrades

South Brunswick Township completed the second story of the graded school with more than 1000 dollars spent on metal ceilings walls partitions cloak rooms and modern furniture. Louis Bower of Dutch Neck supervised the work for the Board of Education. Dayton public school is being converted into a four room up to date building while sixth to eighth graders start at Monmouth Junction with others at Vanderveer's Hall until completion.

Trenton Merchants Promote Carnival Visit Cranbury

Trenton merchants toured Cranbury on a Wednesday afternoon promoting the Merchants' Carnival to be held in Trenton on October 4. Peter H. Johnson of Cranbury, a farmer, broke his leg when a wagon tipped while carting rye straw to Chamberlin Barclay at Cranbury Station. Dr. Geo E. Titus aided until Dr. Reddand arrived.

Jamesburg Dam Workman Loses Arm in Accident

James Lane a Camden rigger, 40, employed by Buckelews on the Lower Jamesburg dam project, had his left arm amputated at St Peters Hospital New Brunswick after a heavy piling fell. Dr Donohue performed the operation as Lane, weakened by shock and blood loss, was rushed by Willis Forman’s auto. The site has seen two prior injuries from falling timbers with Buckelews providing care for all three workers.

Four Miles Runaway Horses At Public Sale

An incident at a public sale for W Allman saw a hay rack team owned by Wm Mount break free from a fence and flee four miles through a crowd and barns, ending at the Dutch Neck trolley station where a horse fell. no injuries were reported.
