The Y P C A of the Second Presbyterian Church will meet Sunday evening with the topic Share Your Blessings led by Miss Mary Spaulding. Rev C M Cantrall of Princeton will occupy the pulpit in the morning and evening services.
Sunday School at 10:00. Morning preaching at 11:00 by Rev. John B. Clark on Be Not Deceived God is Not Mocked. Evening sermon at 7:30 by Rev. J. F. Clark titled The Prodigal Bon.
At the annual meeting on Tuesday the local W C T U elected officers for the year. President is Mr. Wm. F. Perrine, corresponding secretary Miss Mary Hughes, recording secretary Mrs. H. J. Butcher, and treasurer Myre Lewis Appleget.
Wm. F. Perrine BR. P. Stilwell George Peppler and Raymond Wycoff were guests of Hightstown Past Masters of F. and A. M. on Friday evening. The meeting was interesting and refreshments were served.
Albert C. Grover Fred Grove and Enos A. Mount will represent Cranbury on the September Grand Jury. Thomas Woolston has laid about 5 000 feet of concrete sidewalk at Dutch Neck on the property of Hiram A. Cook and the Presbyterian church. Mr and Mrs Barclay entertain with Apollo Lodge members and their wives after which music and refreshments followed. Visiting Niagara Falls Cranbury people join an auto trip for about a week including Lewis Chamberlin Charles Farr Harry Farr Harvey R Dey John Applegate and Charles Applegate. The Crescent orchestra plays at Stahl Davison ice cream parlors with oyster stew or ice cream tomorrow evening.
The Steinbach Company of Asbury Park announces new closing times five six o'clock daily except Saturdays when the store remains open until nine thirty.
Last evening at Mrs. Clifford Chamberlin's home a mixed shower for Miss Elva Chamberlin, soon to wed Edward W. G. Borer of Philadelphia, featured games and a prize drawing. The basket gift was pink crepe and bowed, with refreshments served to a large group of relatives and friends including Mrs. Irving W. Dey and Miss Clara Bergen.
Cranbury residents pursue education with Miss Sara Perrine, Miss Helen Murray, Miss Olive Petty, Miss Ethel Cole, Miss Bertha Applegate, Harvey Voorhees at Rider Moore & Stewart, Willard Grove and Raymond Lawrence entering October first, Miss Helen Forman at State Normal in Oneonta and Archie Forman at Penn State. Social Club excursion to Delaware Water Gap included numerous Perrine and local families with Rev Curry and many couples.
Eva Howell Farr wed Raymond J. Wetzel in a Wednesday ceremony at 154 Kent Street Trenton. The Rite was led by Rev. Wilson D. Hollinger with Helen Duncan playing the wedding march. The couple will reside at 154 Kent Street and Wetzel, a violinist and conductor on the Trenton Street Railway, shared music after a reception.
A 1914 notice details a Willing Light Bearers program at First Presbyterian chapel with readings and songs led by Alex Butcher and Henry Wilson. It also reports the start of outdoor gymnasium construction at Peddie School under contractor Martin Nolan to strengthen athletics and student vigor.
The Fall Convention of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Middlesex County meets at Milltown M E Church in New Jersey on Tuesday September 29 1914. Morning session opens at 10 00 with devotions greetings from pastors and officials. Afternoon session begins 2 00 with Bible reading and reports followed by department demonstrations and an address by Miss E H Elfreth. Evening program at 7 30 includes scripture reading prayers music and a gold medal contest with judges and a benediction.
Freehold investors led by Ed ward Simonson, owner of Freehold Opera House, survey several Hightstown properties to build an amusement venue with potential opera house and storefronts. They favor the Smith property on Main Street beside the Post Office, and note their Freehold opera house, built last year for 50 000 dollars, is a handsome structure yielding good profit.

Harvey H Hoffman, longtime Monroe township overseer of the poor, married Katharine Miller of Bound Brook in a discreet Sunday ceremony at the Hoffman homestead parlor. Witnesses included John and Isaac Hoffman and Addison Conover. The bride, in blue silk, and the groom, 53, were joined after a 23 year courtship.
