The church announces Sunday morning preaching by Rev. J. E. Curry on The Repose of Faith from Psalm 18:8. Sunday School begins at 10 o'clock.
The Light Bearers mission band of the First Presbyterian church will meet in the chapel Friday afternoon at the close of school. Leaders Alice Brown and Mary Perrine will guide the session.
The Men's Brotherhood of the First Church meets Monday September 12 at 8 o'clock in the chapel with good speaking and singing.
Rev Frederick Schweitzer leads Community Service at 7 30 PM with Prayer Meeting Friday at 8 PM Junior C E at 3 PM led by Miss Virginia Pullen Senior C E at 6 45 PM with the subject How to Make the Most of Our Bibles led by Mr Harold Ogborn
The Senior C. E. will hold a business meeting at 9 P M on Friday September 16 in the chapel. Immediately after, the Social and Entertainment Committee will meet to plan an entertainment.
The Second church will hold its rally day service on Sunday September 25. The event invites members and neighbors to gather for worship, community outreach, and a brief program following the service.
The September communion service of the Second church will be held on Sunday, September 18. Officials urge attendance and participation by members and local residents.
Vacation observations and reflections presented by Rev. L. E. Lennox and three sermons from Anglican Presbyterian and Methodist speakers. Misa Puerschner to render a vocal Bolo. Worship on Sunday with Sunday School at 10 A. M. Prayer meeting Thursday night at 7 45.
The Stitch and Chatter Club will meet on Wednesday afternoon September 14 with Mrs. Harold C. Wilson.
The W C T U holds its regular meeting on Tuesday September 18 at 3 o clock at Mrs Henry Browns home. The topic is scientific temperance instruction in the public schools led by Miss Laura Scudder and Mrs John B Perrine.
The Second church lists its fall activities including the Second Annual Birthday Party of the Ladies Missionary Society set for Thursday evening October sixth in the chapel. The event promises interest and pleasure to the congregation.
A clothing talk by Mrs Griebel on hat styles, faces, and hairdressing is set for September 16 at 2 30 P M daylight time in the Short Course Building College Farm New Brunswick. A millinery group gathering will follow led by Mrs Ella Butcher.
Cranbury faces Yardville in a playoff at Peddie Field on Saturday September 10 with Artie Young pitching for Cranbury. Manager Barlow and the Cranbury Base Ball Club seek fan support as proceeds help defray club expenses.
A Monday birthday party at Geo W Burroughs home honored Mrs Annie K B Hart of Pennington on her 90th birthday. Also present was sister Elia J Burroughs of Ewingville. brother Edward of Philadelphia is 88. The Burroughs family shared wedding anniversary wishes for Mr and Mrs Arthur Burroughs.
About fifty VanKirk relatives gathered September 5 at the Duncan home for a lawn reunion and picnic. Winners included George Vankirk at quoits and John Maple, 78, at croquet. Prizes went to W D Silvers and J C Stryker. Friends from Rosedale marked long marriages and hoped for annual gatherings.
Mr and Mrs Willard V Stewart hosted a Labor Day family reunion picnic with dinner and a list of attendees including Mr and Mrs John Jemi son George W Brown of Trenton Mrs Trifley Cole and Mr and Mrs Edwin Gann of Philadelphia Charles Van Brant and mother of Bordentown Mr and Mrs James Hart of Robbinsville Mr and Mrs Raymond Crosbour and family Mr and Mrs Edwin Bryan and family of Hightstown Mr and Mrs Charles F Dansel and daughter of Hamilton Square and Mr and Mrs Willard V Stewart and son of Cranbury.
Cranbury overwhelmed Hightstown 14 to 5 after beating Hamilton Square 3 to 1 on Saturday. Artie Young pitched brilliantly, allowing seven hits and striking out eleven as Cranbury opened with six runs in the first inning. The Bagegaley Brothers and Spence Gee led Cranbury with four hits apiece in a clean decisive victory.
Miss Lemirah Egnor daughter of Percy A. Egnor and Myron Wright son of Mr and Mrs Forman H Wright were married at Ocean Grove on Sunday September fourth. The bride worked at O T Fenton jewelry store and the groom at Cottrells Garage Hightstown.
A mass meeting at the Baptist Church with over a hundred residents approved the Board of Trade plans for Hightstown's bicentennial celebration from October 7 to 10. Mayor Cunningham urged citizens to decorate and aid in observance. Firemen's Day October 8 features a mammoth parade and prizes for units.
Cranbury hosts the Radcliffe Chautauqua with afternoon and evening programs. Lectures and concerts feature Miss de Veemer Ramsay, Miss Irvine Guy, Miss Ruth Dunn, Miss Charlotte Hearon, and Miss Anna Hearon, with the Marshall Novelty Co providing musical entertainment. Organizers hope to make it an annual affair.
The Jamesburg Presbyterian Church severed pastoral relations with Rev W J B Edgar after seven and a half years. More than two hundred attended the Lord's Supper, six children were baptized and six members received. Edgar urged unity and prayers for his successor and praised the congregation. He departs for Erie Pa to join the Evangelistic department of the Presbyterian church of America to organize campaigns.
