Fire swept through Grover Bros. plant in Hightstown on Tuesday morning with flames erupting from roofs. Miss Julia Grover woke her father Clarence Grover and alarms were raised as Cranbury and local fire crews fought the blaze. Heavy rain the prior night limited damage though a large hay and straw storage building burned, with three smaller structures destroyed. Estimated loss about 20000 dollars. origin undetermined but suspected incendiary cause.

Missionary meeting held at Plainsboro Presbyterian church

Mrs Carrie Gade, 43, of Jamesburg is treated at St Peter's Hospital New Brunswick for bullet wounds to her right side after the gun she removed from a closet to shoot a chicken hawk discharged. She is reported in stable condition.

Lightning Splits Walnut Tree on Dr Van Dyke Lawn
Heavy showers Monday evening produced a lightning strike on the old walnut tree in Dr. B. S. Van Dyke's yard. The bolt split the tree from crown to roots, hurling bark fragments skyward, and narrowly avoided hitting the nearby house.
Fire at Lux's in North Cranbury minimal damage
About 2 30 Monday afternoon the Cranbury Fire Company was called to the house of Frederick Lux in North Cranbury. Fire started in the kitchen chimney but was soon extinguished with little damage.
