Cranbury Scene Follow Hallowe'en and Local Visits
The Cranbury Press notes a busy period with family reunions in Trenton and visits from Newark and Philadelphia residents. A rural sale saw Alexander Cole estate land bought by Willis Applegat for 7350 dollars. Community life spans serenades for newlyweds, costume parades, repairs, and a Japan focus for Mission Society activities. Local figures, dances, and social visits headline a week of movement, entertainment, and small-town commerce.
Evangelistic Meetings and Community Notices Across Town

A men and boys meeting is planned at the Second Church with music from a male quartet and instrumental trio. Mr Faulconer will speak on Sowing and Reaping. Several group meetings follow, including Fruit Gleaners and Reading Circle programs with readings, music, and talks. One Sided Gambling and a Tragic Train Crash
A German correspondent describes Ostend baccarat as a game where the bank almost always wins, warning that outsiders have little chance. In Perth Amboy a train collision killed John C. Arner, 47, president of the Perth Amboy Board of Education, as he tried to catch a Jersey City to Perth Amboy train. Several passengers were injured. The crash is blamed partly on a freight train’s lack of torpedoes on the track.
