Big Middlesex county board meeting opens with officers oath
The Middlesex County Board convened on Wednesday with Clerk Clayton calling the roll and excluding Luther Tappen and Péter Stontgs by direction of County Solicitor Peter F. Daly. After debate, Tappen and Stontgs were partially sworn, Daly advised against adding names, and the board then elected and swore in George S. Silzer for Tappen’s appearance. New officers were sworn in or reelected, and salaries set. The Perth Amboy Hospital request for county aid was noted, with Wells Hospital in New Brunswick receiving support. A large Junior Mechanics reunion was announced for May 23 in New Brunswick, with multiple county councils listed as attendees.
