Fire destroys Jamesburg Electric Light plant loss over ten thousand
A Saturday night blaze in Jamesburg started in the pumping room of the Electric Light Company causing over ten thousand dollars in damage. Firemen saved the Jamesburg Water Company plant in the same building as Superintendent Frederick Green Slade and the local crew battled the flames. A separate incident saw Arthur E. Perrine halt a runaway wagon team at Prospect Plaing Wednesday morning, preventing injury. The community mourned Grace Perrine Van Dyke, wife of Dr. Benjamin S. Van Dyke, who died after childbirth, with funeral services held and many floral tributes. The State Bureau of Fisheries offers a booklet on oyster recipes by mail from Trenton. Colds raise risk of serious diseases in children. Chamberlain's Cough Remedy recommended.
